Sunday Style: September 8, 2013

This is why we should take pictures before church. Sundays can be rough with little ones.
Dress: Cozette Couture |  Shoes: Old Navy | Necklace: Crazy 8 | Tights: Children's Place | Headband: Gap (old)

Because this is Sunday Style I thought I would also include what I learned while going to church (you know the important stuff)

This past Sunday we were taught about the importance of service. They shared one of my all time favorite quotes from Marjorie Pay Hinckley

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”

What an inspiration. It is so easy to get caught up in the things that don't matter. I know I am guilty of it. I know that service makes me happy. Sometimes I fight and complain about doing it, but in the long run I am always glad I did it. I hope that as I continue to serve others around me, I am quicker to notice someone in need and that I will be able to think of others before I think of myself. That is something that is hard to do. But thankfully I think it is a quality that you can learn and master the more you practice. I want to really live.
